Heart Time Hunt: Give Your Kids the Simple Gift of Time This Valentine's Day! Fun Family Activities . . .

At Valentine's Day, I love doing a fun scavenger hunt with heart-shaped clues and some sort of "prize" at the end. As I thought about what my kids would like this Valentine's Day, I realized that they would really enjoy my time and attention (along with a little candy)! Since there is only a certain amount of time on Valentine's Day itself, I decided that this year instead of putting clues on our hidden hearts, I would write personalized activities on the hearts (to be redeemed throughout the month of February).
I don't know about your kids, but each of mine has particular things he would like to do. My eight year old would love to toss a football with me (as he delights in the fact that he is much better at it than I am), or he would love to fold paper airplanes and launch them off the balcony. My six year old, who loves to talk, would relish the idea of undivided attention as he talks incessantly about his favorite book or movie. He would also be thrilled with a game of checkers! Really, some of those simple things are what matter to kids.
